Joan Miró
| Jacky Lau
I love colours. I believe they have a power which can affect our
emotions. Like fragrance, sound, taste and touch, colors can enliven or sap our energy.
Looking at Joan Miró’s later works of pure bright colors, red, yellow, blue and green with thick black brush strokes, with much delight, I’m brought to the children’s imaginative realm of purity and freedom. While growing up, we have learnt how to master our writing properly, a straight way of communication. Miró un-mastered this writing in his art!
Vision Nouvelle, 1971, lithographs exhibition of 100 works by Joan Miró presented his fauvist and surrealist association in his own character.
I ask myself if so-called “surrealism” is just “realism” in an unconventional form which in fact truly unveils our human illogical self!?
